Hazelwood Necklaces from Avellana.
Hazelwood is an ancient remedy first used by aboriginal people -- It has the medicinal property of neutralizing the body's acidity.
It relieves or prevents ailments such as ulcers, acid reflux, heartburn, skin problems (psoriasis, eczema, acne), arthritis, constipation, migraines, sensitive & bleeding gums, helps reduce dental cavities and more.
Hazelwood necklaces are made from the branches of a hazelwood tree alternated with glass and/or gemstone beads for ornamentation. All part are handmade - from the gathering of the wood to the stringing of the beads. All of the metal used to fasten the clasp and the clasp itself is solid sterling-silver (a lead-free metal).
No chemicals of any kind (pesticides, fertilizers, etc.) are used to grow the hazelwood trees these necklaces are made from. (Often when wood comes from a plantation chemical pesticides and fertilizers are used.)
In order to receive a therapeutic benefit the necklace must be worn as much as possible. It is also recommended to wear the necklace while bathing. Keeping the hazelwood moist aids the body in absorbing the beneficial properties of the Hazelwood. Though it is not recommended to wear the hazelwood in the pool, spa, or in other highly chlorinated water.
Children should be supervised while wearing the jewelry and we do recommend that you remove the necklace during naps and bedtime.
The life span of the necklace will depend on the level of acidity of the body. In general, a necklace will maintain its medicinal benefits for 6 –12 months. Higher acidity may mean a shorter lifespan of the necklace. A necklace is losing effectiveness when the ends of the wood beads darken and/or symptoms return.
While wearing hazelwood jewelry may not cure all that may ail your baby, it has been a proven benefit to many!
Necklaces are available in 11" and 12.5". As long as the necklace is not too snug, the length is a personal preference. A convenient way to measure is to drape a tape measurer or a piece of string around the neck to see what length you are most comfortable with. Some prefer a shorter length so that the necklace is less likely to get caught on anything & others select longer lengths so that their children can wear one size for a longer period of time - only you can make this choice!
